Warning: this itinerary is subject to frequent and enthusiastic revision…

Aug 18, 2008 Hopping a one-way flight to Lisbon, strapping on hiking boots, collecting our buddy Mundo, and making our slow and wine-fueled way to Fatima. Meeting up with family at the Spanish border and continuing on to Santiago for a healthy fix of religion, art, history, and octopus.

Oct, 2008 One way ticket?  Thank God for all the good people at Delta who managed to finagle our existing grab bag of tickets into a mad dash back to Connecticut…all for about $70.  Back stateside in time to watch all the leaves change (which pretty much beats out any other show on the planet), and to help Chris’s dad, Joe, as he recovers from a whopper of a stroke.

Jan 2009 The entire population of Shelton, CT has once again made the now-annual trek with us to Hot-lanta for New Years.  The combination of old friends, new friends, good cooking, and the occasional murder mystery (and midnight helium poetry recital) has left us stirred and shaken, with strange things bubbling to the surface.  What good is the whole, wide world if it means leaving behind friends like these?  2009 will see us sticking pretty close to home, what with the family sitch and all, so we’re taking the opportunity to snatch up some grad school.  Chris is aiming to teach, and Cole has spent so much time pushing and prodding Joe through his recovery that Occupational Therapy is starting to look like a logical career choice.  Yey, gainful employment!  Pretty firmly planted for now, and proving once again that motion is not always progress.

June 2009 Gettin’ a little wanderlust, and school’s out for the summer.  Road trip USA?  Chris has his eye on making our lazy way through the quiter corners of the South, and after a too-long, too-icy winter Cole is A-okay with some prolonged exposure to heat and humidity.

Oct 2009 Save the date, folks.  Halloween falls on a saturday this year, and there will be a Yarsa-witch’s Ball.  It will be the kind of thing you tell your grandkids about (which will be a lot easier to do if you’re actually there), so start brushing off your very best monster mask.  Mwa Ha ha…

Dec 2009 Anyone up for Bangkok?  Cole’s got an itch to see Angor Wat and Chris is wondering if anyone else in that part of the world might want to join us.  Hint hint.
